Launched in October of 2015 by the White House, Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and a call to action.
Stop the Bleed is intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.
Similar to how the general public learns and performs CPR, the public must learn proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use their hands, dressings, and tourniquets. Victims can quickly die from uncontrolled bleeding, within five to 10 minutes.
Community Volunteer EMS of LaMoure and AgCountry have teamed up to hold a Stop the Bleeding training day on Saturday, September 28th beginning at 10 am. Training sessions will take place every 30 minutes. This training will be held at the Emergency Response Center in LaMoure and led by Dr. Mary Aaland from UND School of Medicine.
AgCountry has generously donated 50 Stop the Bleed Kits (valued at $60 each. You can receive a free Stop the Bleed Kit by being one of the first 50 participants to sign up and attend this lifesaving training.
Pre-registration is required and please call or text Kelli Just at 701-238-8410 to sign up.
