Jamestown Parks and Recreation will host its final Community Bike Ride of summer on Sunday, September 8th starting at 3:45pm at McElroy Park. The bike ride will be followed by a free snack and social. Volunteers from the Jamestown Bike Riders Advocacy Group have helped lead two other Community Bike Rides this summer- one near Two Rivers Activity Center that included a ride through Hillcrest Athletic Complex trails, and another around Meidinger Park in the Southwest area of Jamestown. The community bike fleet is available at each ride for riders who need a bike and helmet. The group hopes to host a community input meeting this fall or winter to continue conversation about how to make Jamestown neighborhoods safer and more accessible for non-motor vehicles such as bikes.
