Downtown Valley City is the destination for bluegrass music this Saturday, September 9th. From 11 am – noon the Bluegrass Association of North Dakota (B.A.N.D) will host an Introduction to Bluegrass Music class and beginner jam session at the Vault Coffee Shop and Arts Center. Bring your bluegrass instruments or borrow one there. The group is already working up an easy Christmas carol. No charge for participants. From 1-5 pm that afternoon is the September Bluegrass Jam Session, also at the Vault. This open jam session is a chance for pickers and grinners with their basic skills in place to share in the joys of homemade music. Bluegrass instruments include fiddle, mandolin, 6-string guitar, 5-string banjo, Dobro guitar, and upright bass. Again, no charge; listeners welcome.
