LAKE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown basketball teams, in the midst of a three-game non-conference run, went to Devils Lake to battle the Firebirds on Tuesday night. The Blue Jay boys won a shootout, shooting 70%, 92-82. The girls weren’t able to keep pace with the Firebirds down the stretch and lost 74-67.

Noah Wanzek lead three Jays with 20 or more, as he poured in 30. Tanner Lunzman added 24, 20 of which came in the first half. Jake Ruether had his third straight game in double-figures with another 20 point night.

Bailey Lamp’s 20 wasn’t enough for the Jays who couldn’t quite hang with the Firebirds at the end. The lead changed hands on three straight possessions with six minutes to go until Devils Lake was able to exert control.
