Rott, 78, of Nortonville, ND, passed away at his home Tuesday evening, December 22, 2015 of a sudden heart attack.

Arlon Rott was born September 3, 1937, in McIntosh County, near Fredonia, ND, to Samuel and Maggie (Herman) Rott. In 1942, they moved to a farm northwest of Nortonville and in 1951, they moved into Nortonville where he attended and graduated from high school in 1955. In 1959, he married Rhodell Kay Washburn. They purchased a farm north of Nortonville where their home has been since.

Arlon farmed in the Nortonville area and did construction work with his brother, Virgil, for the LaMoure and Stutsman County Soil Conservation District building roads, water dugouts, dams and field drainage. He also worked seven years as a pilot and gunner for the United States Dept. of Agriculture “Animal Damage Control” of Bismarck, ND.

Arlon also raised show quality Pomeranian dogs with his second wife, Jane. Some dogs won championship honors in California and British of Columbia, Canada.

His favorite and cherished saying was, “We have come a long way you and me.”

Arlon is survived by his wife, Jane Kulla and her five children and eight grandchildren; daughter, Cindy (Larry) Worrel; son, Robert (Linda) Rott; daughter, Diane (Steve) Buckeye; son, Paul (Jane) Rott; ten grandchildren, Emily, Samantha, Kyle, Justin, Lucas, Jennifer, Megan, Grace, Peyton and Frank; two great-grandchildren, Keely and Alise; and numerous Pomeranians.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; great grandchild, Lauren; and brother, Virgil.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, ND with Rev. Becky Holten officiating.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.

Interment: Nortonville Cemetery, Nortonville, ND.
