City, N.D. – When the mercury hit 106 on August 20, 1976 in Fargo many thought that was special but when the longest living resident in Barnes County hit 106 it was something extra special on Wednesday.
Henrietta (Rasmusson) Dotting has lived in Barnes County all her life and was a teacher in Sanborn and at a country school house near Sanborn in her youth.

As a matter of fact, one of her first grade students, Barb Berg now resides in the same assisted living facility, Bridgeview Estates.
Henrietta is the oldest of six children, the other five have passed away. She says getting a car and running water in the house was a pretty big event for the family in 1910 as well as rural electricity two decades later.
She has a sharp mind and good memory. She remembers falling out of the sleigh as a baby after a horse got upset and the vehicle turned on its side.
Henrietta (Rasmusson) Dotting was born in Dazey Township in 1906 and lived on the family farm a mile north of Dazey.
We all wished her a happy birthday yesterday but today we wish her all the best as she pursues her 107th birthday next year.
