N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Hundreds of thousands of dollars are lost every day due to different scams and the Attorney General’s office is busy educating residents on how to prevent this.
Investigator Tonya Hetzler with the North Dakota Attorney General’s Office spends her time educating individuals in the state on new and different scams and how a person can avoid them.
Scams that have become popular in the state include Impostor Scams and Romance Scams.
Hetzler pointed out that the best way to deal with these scams is to be informed and proactive. Look for red flags and don’t give out personal information. If you fall victim to a scam or are contacted by a scammer, you’re urged to contact the Attorney General’s Office at 1-800-472-2600.
