N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Unseasonably warm temperatures this month have not allowed lakes and rivers to freeze fully and the Game & Fish Department is warning residents of this.

Game Biologist Doug Leier stated that with the current freeze in the state, ice has begun developing. But with the heavy snow and warm temperatures, it has not allowed the ice to fully solidify for safe ice fishing.

Leier stated that deer and pheasant season are still underway and numerous refuges have opened to the public. He encourages people to explore those options while they wait for the ice to freeze more.
