N.D.  (NewsDakota.com)  On November 20th, at approximately 2:20 PM, The Foster County Sheriff’s Office was involved with a High Speed Chase coming through Foster County. We were notified that a stolen Ambulance that was being chased by several Law Enforcement Officers was coming in on Hwy 52 from the west. A decision was made to deploy spike strips to deflate the tires of the stolen ambulance. The spike strips were set four miles west of Carrington on Hwy 52.

The stolen Ambulance, which was driven by Timothy Blowers, drove over the stop spikes but continued into Carrington. The ambulance first turned north on Hwy 281, pulled into Casey’s general store and then drove around parking lot and pulled out south on Hwy 281. We continued following him south on 281 through Carrington.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol set up stop spikes south of Carrington however the ambulance went around them. Then in another quarter mile south a north bound vehicle driven by Cole Zaderaka, drove off the roadway into the east to ditch in an attempt to avoid the oncoming emergency vehicles. The Ambulance driven by Blowers, then went into the east ditch and struck the SUV driven by Cole Zaderaka. The collision occurred in the east ditch and not on the Highway.

The SUV driven by Zaderaka, was attempting to avoid the action and this occurred a distance away from the stop spikes. It is unclear why Blowers drove into the ditch and struck Zaderaka. After striking the SUV, Blowers exited the flipped Ambulance and attempted to flee, by running away. Sheriff Mattice chased him on foot and he was tackled and apprehended. Zaderaka had to be extricated from the SUV, by the Carrington Fire and Rescue. Zaderaka is in stable condition. Blowers faces many criminal charges including Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen property, Reckless Endangerment, Aggravated Reckless driving, and Fleeing.
