(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High volleyball team was searching for their fourth consecutive trip to the state tournament and fell short of that goal on Saturday. After being handled by Century on Friday in the WDA semifinals, the Jays were taken down in three sets by Legacy. The Sabers won the match 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-22).
In the first set, Jamestown trailed 24-18 before running off four straight to force a Legacy timeout. The Sabers scored immediately following the timeout to claim the opening set.
Jamestown entered the third set trying to stay alive and ran out to an 11-5 lead. Legacy answered with an 11-1 run and never looked back.
It is the first state tournament berth for Legacy in their first season of high school volleyball.
