N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Bureau of Criminal Investigation will be looking into claims of misuse of government property against the Stutsman County Sheriff.

Sheriff Chad Kaiser says the BCI investigation is in its early stages.

Kaiser stated that there are no known suspects at this time and he does not know how long the investigation will take. The BCI agreed to investigate in an effort for transparency in the investigation.

The claims state that Sheriff Kaiser’s son and a Sheriff’s Office deputy were using a Jet Ski owned by the county. The claims were disputed once it was found that the county does not own a jet Ski, which actually belonged to a private individual in Mandan.
