N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The State of North Dakota’s Fire Truck was used to assist in the repairs to the Historic 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse on Monday.
The hands of the courthouse clock were removed so the clock mechanism could be repaired yesterday. Once that is completed, the hands of the clock will be re-installed in the spring. The Jamestown Fire Department assisted in using the fire truck’s ladder for the repairs.
Other renovations on the courthouse include rewired electricity, new restrooms and rehabbing the interior woodwork. The courthouse remains the oldest courthouse in the state and was placed on the national registry of historic places in 2014.
