N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Discarded smoking materials are the possible cause of a grass fire outside of an apartment building Tuesday afternoon in Jamestown.

The Jamestown City Fire Department responded to 904 Thomas Avenue Northeast for a grass fire near an apartment. The fire was under control quickly and damage was kept to a small area next to the building and two bicycles in the area.

City Fire Chief Jim Reuther reminds residents to be extremely careful with smoking materials and other flammables with extremely dry conditions.
