N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – New York Financial technology company SmartAsset has released their findings of the most tax-friendly retirement spots in the state.
According to the website, the study aims to find the areas with the most tax-friendly policies for retirees. They looked at standard deduction, personal exemption and deductions for each specific type of retirement income. Their findings showed that Devils Lake was the number one spot for retirees with a 47.45 Retirement Tax Friendliness Index.
Valley City ranked as the second best with an index of 47.33 and Jamestown fifth with an index rating of 46.49.
