J. Wolf, 90, of Fargo, died peacefully Tuesday morning Oct. 13, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Fargo, ND.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Valley City with Msgr. Dennis Skonseng celebrant.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Friday at the Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home with a Rosary and Prayer Service beginning at 7PM and visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church Saturday.  Interment will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Valley City with full military honors.

Herman was born Jan. 17, 1925 at Fingal, ND to John and Rosie (Huber) Wolf.  He graduated 8th grade at Weber School and worked 5 years for a farmer at Oriska, ND.  He joined the US Army Feb. 7, 1945 where he saw active duty in the Pacific.  He was honorably discharged on Dec. 3, 1946.  He worked various places before his 21 year career with Collins Trucking.  In 1959 he moved to Fargo, ND.  He married Joan Thorstad in Jan. 1969 and the couple later divorced in 1981.  He continued trucking with different companies before his retirement.  After retirement he enjoyed playing bingo and keeping up with current affairs.  He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Herman was a kind, considerate man who was always willing to help others.  He will be dearly missed by his nieces, their families, and his many friends.  Survivors include a sister, Katherine Olson, Valley City, ND; 2 nieces, Ann Marie (Ed) Thom, Valley City, ND and Chris (Ron) Koslofsky, Fingal, ND; 2 great nieces, Caroline (Ross) Windingl and their children, Jordan and Alexis, Jamestown, ND, and Elena Thom, Fargo, ND.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Alfred, Frank (Agnes), Robert, and John Jr.; and a sister, Margaret Wolf.
