(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High volleyball team has been plagued with inconsistencies during the 2015 season. On Tuesday night, they shook off part of that distinction as they swept Bismarck High, 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-21), at Jerry Meyer Arena. The win moved the Jays back to 5-5 in the WDA.
The first set saw nine lead changes but it was the Jays who were able to pull away in the final points to grab the opening set. No team would lead in the match by more than three until Jamestown took a 13-9 lead in set three.
To end the second set, the Jays had Alyssa Ukestad serving and the sophomore dropped in back-to-back aces to close the set. The first was headed out before the Demon’s Alie Glasser failed to get out of the way and it clipped her leg. Next, she deflected it off the net and in to end the set.
The Jays will go to the Sheels Invite this weekend before resuming WDA play on Tuesday at Century. Jamestown beat the Patriots in Bismarck in both 2013 and 2014.
