S.D. – Dacotah Bank and the North Star Athletic Association are proud to announce the fourth edition of the Football Players-of-the-Week honors today. Tray Boone and Thomas Sease of Dickinson State (N.D.) were selected to the weekly honors. Boone was chosen as the Offensive Player-of-the-Week, while Sease was named as Defensive Player-of-the-Week. DaMario Fair of Valley City State (N.D.) was selected as Special Teams Player-of-the-Week.
Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Tray Boone – Dickinson State (N.D.) – 5’9” – 150 lbs., Junior – running back – Los Angeles, Calif. – Boone set the Dickinson State’s (N.D.) school record for most rushing yards in a single game in helping the Blue Hawks gain a 43-21 Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football conference opener victory at Presentation (S.D.). He rushed 35 times for a total of 340 yards. Boone had four rushing touchdowns in the game.
Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Thomas Sease – Dickinson State (N.D.) – 6’3” – 200 lbs., Sophomore – linebacker – Bismarck, N.D. – Sease intercepted two Presentation’s (S.D.) passes, with one returning for a 30-yard touchdown, helping Dickinson State (N.D.) open up their Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football conference season with a 43-21 road victory. He also registered five tackles – two solo tackles and three assist tackles.
Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
DaMario Fair – Valley City State (N.D.) – 5’8” – 175 lbs., Junior – kickoff returner/running back – Phoenix, Ariz. – Fair had a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown as Valley City State (N.D.) opened up the Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football conference play with a 35-13 road victory at Waldorf (Iowa). His big kickoff return came early in the third quarter after the Warriors had cut VCSU’s lead to 14-6. Fair finished with two kickoff returns for 125 yards (62.5 yards per return) and also had a 52-yard touchdown run in the game.
