N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department has released their run report for the weeks of August 21st through September 17th this year.
Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Ruether reports that the department has responded to a total of 196 calls in the most recent run log. Included in the report is a power line arcing in a tree and a semi that was on fire and subsequently put out. You can view the full list of runs, dates, and times below.
Call No. 179 August 25th, 9:46AM, ready squad responded to 415 11th St NE, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate smoke smell. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-possible dryer vent plugged. Time out 20 minutes.
Call No. 180 August 28th, 11:01AM, fire department hazmat team responded to 213 Lindwood Drive SW, to a report of a natural gas line was leaking. Firefighters stood by until MDU arrived on scene to stop the leak. Cause-construction work. No injuries were reported. Time out 45 minutes.
Call No. 181 August 28th, 3:50PM, ready squad responded to 1300 2nd Place NE, Eventide, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-accidental alarm activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 20 minutes.

Call No. 184 September 1st, 2:52PM, ready squad responded to 800 12th Ave NE, Multi Family Dwelling, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-systems malfunction. Fire alarm system was not operating, so a 24 hour fire watch was put in place by owner/manager. Time out 30 minutes.
