N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Both U.S. Senators Heidi Heitkamp and John Hoeven have announced roughly .3 million in federal funding to be used for needed improvements to several airports including Edgeley, Oakes and Jamestown.
“North Dakota needs to have strong and reliable transportation infrastructure so our families, communities and businesses can live and work in our state,” said Heitkamp. “These federal funds are important investments in sustaining quality and top-notch services at airports across North Dakota.”
“North Dakota’s airports play a major role in our state’s economic success,” Hoeven said. “These grants will go towards funding improvements at airports across the state, which will help them to meet our growing transportation needs.”
Edgeley Municipal Airport Authority will be receiving $63,926 to rehabilitate the runway, apron and taxiway. Oakes Municipal Airport Authority will receive $53,316 to reimburse the airport for it’s work to improve existing road access. Jamestown Regional Airport will receive $50,000 to reconstruct more than 350 feet of the existing taxiway pavement.
Other airports receiving funds are in Kindred, Beach and Hillsboro.
