N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It’s back to school across the state and nation and that means school lunches are up and running again too.
Governor Jack Dalrymple has proclaimed that September 13th through the 19th will be Farm to School Week. According to Executive Director of FARRMS Sue Balcom, it’s not too early to begin planning your Farm To School Week.
“…We’d like to have you to share your ideas and support for farm to school with others. No school is too small or too large to incorporate a farm to school activity.” Sue stated.
Shelley Mack Jamestown Public Schools will be serving a Farm to School “Harvest of the Month” Sept. 16 in the middle school and Sept. 17 at the high school. Locally grown fresh roasted potatoes and carrots from Forager Farm in Streeter will be served with sliced roast beef celebrating ND Farm to School Week.
