N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Fire Department and Jamestown Police Department responded this morning after parts of the city experienced power outages.

Outages included an area from the railroad tracks south to 10th Street Southeast and other downtown businesses. The Fire Department responded to fire alarms that were triggered by the outage and have reset most of them.

Police were directing traffic until power was restored. Signal lights were off and the street department put up temporary stop signs at certain intersections. The outage was caused by an underground fault in the area of the post office and Bank Forward in Jamestown. The circuit has been rerouted to repair the fault.
