N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol was recently awarded advanced accreditation status by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

Since 1989, the NDHP has been accredited and complies with more than 350 professional public safety standards to maintain their status.

“Earning advanced accreditation is a reflection of our commitment to the Highway Patrol mission. Each employee is to be commended for working to keep North Dakota motorists safe,” said Colonel Mike Gerhart.

CALEA was created in 1979 trhough the International Association of Chiefs of Police, The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, the National Sheriff’s Association, and the Police Executive Research Forum.
