N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Both the Jamestown Reservoir and Pipestem Dam have seen lower outputs this year and Pipestem Dam Manager Bob Martin says that’s because they are in a Low Flow year.
According to Martin, the Jamestown Reservoir is releasing at 50 cfs and Pipestem Dam is releasing at around 135 cfs, which will be reduced around the second week of August. He stated that they want to keep it constant and have continued moving water for releases until mid-September.
Martin stated that because it’s a low flow year, the both the Reservoir and Pipestem will continue their current releases to reduce heavier releases in the Spring.
Martin also pointed out that releases would vary depending on heavy rains and snow pack. The Army Corps of Engineers will then announce either the increase or decrease of output from both waterways.
