Scallon, 88, of Edgeley, ND, passed away Friday afternoon, July 17, 2015, at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Jamestown.

Quin William Scallon was born on March 21, 1927, on the family farm near Edgeley, the son of Hugh and Gertrude (Frey) Scallon. He attended Potsdam school and Edgeley High School. Quin entered the National Guard in 1948, and then enlisted in the US Army on January 16, 1951. He served in Germany during the Korean Conflict and was discharged at Fr. Custer, MI on September 18, 1952 as a Sergeant. Quin and Delane Welder were married on May 23, 1955 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley. They made their home on the family farm and raised four children. Quin grew small grains and raised cattle for many years. He was a Lifetime Member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. Quin served on the Monango School Board for 24 years.

Quin was known for his Irish wit and twinkle in his eye.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Delane Scallon; son, Michael Scallon; son, Paul Scallon and his son, Kyle; daughter, Mariann Scallon and her children, Jack and Tess; daughter-in-law, Cathy Scallon and her daughters, Tanya and Brandi; and five great-grandchildren, Dani, Gabe, Conner, Paxton, and Teagen.

Quin was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark; and brothers, Robert and Roman “Red.”

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND.

Visitation: None scheduled. Arrangements are in the care of Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND.

Interment: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Edgeley.
