LAKE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Over 60 soldiers and airmen competed in rifle, pistol and shotgun rounds at the firing complex in Camp Grafton’s southern training area July 10th through the 12th.
The 2015 Adjutant General’s Combat Marksmanship winners were once again Jamestown as four shooters from Jamestown-based 817th Engineer Company came out on top as the best overall team. The team consists of Sgt. Evan Messer of Mandan, ND; Spc. Bryce Colie of Fertile, MN; Sgt. Jordan Gehlhar of Lauderdale, MN; and Sgt. Andrew Maley of Enderlin, ND. This is the 31st year in a row that the unit has secured first place at the state match.
Sgt. Tyler Goldade of Jamestown, ND who serves with the 815th Engineer Company was named the best overall marksman. According to match planners, this year’s competition saw the most participants across the state in almost a decade.
