N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Many businesses and counties were affected by a fiber-optic cable cut that occurred Wednesday morning in Jamestown.

Crews installing a water line south of Jamestown at around 11:30 AM cut a fiber-optic cable line that disrupted phone service to a majority of North Jamestown and resulted in lost access to phone lines outside of Dakota Central Telecommunications services. 9-1-1 service to Dickey and LaMoure Counties was disrupted as well according to each respective Emergency Manager in each county.

After nearly 5 hours of disruption, service was restored.
