Trautman, 86, of Jamestown, ND, passed away early Saturday morning, July 11, 2015 at St. Alexis in Bismarck.

Harold Neil Trautman was born on August 10, 1928 on a farm in Sinclair Township, Stutsman County, the son of Christ and Magdalena (Kroll) Trautman. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Jamestown High School. Harold attended Hanson’s Mechanical Trade School in Fargo and then enlisted in the US Army on January 15, 1951. He served during the Korea conflict and was discharged on October 16, 1952 at Camp Rucker, AL as Corporal. Harold returned to Jamestown where he married Mary Mathias on August 22, 1952 and made their home on a farm west of the city. Harold served in the House of Representatives for 3 terms. He also served as a 4-H leader for 25 years and was a member of the Lions Club, Youth for Christ, Salvation Army, ND Stockmen’s Association, and St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Harold is survived by his wife, Mary Trautman, Jamestown; son, Tom (Jane Martin) Trautman, Jamestown; daughter, Vickie (Michael) Gunsch, Bismarck; grandchildren, Michael, Lee (Whitney), and Barbara Trautman, Jamestown and Christiana Gunsch, Bismarck; great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Lydia, Jamestown; sisters, Lorraine Wenaas, Carrington, ND, Norma (Wes) Fish, Savage, MN, and Carol Cannon, Jamestown; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown.

Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Erik Weber officiating.

Visitation: None scheduled.  Arrangements are in the care of Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
