N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown has released their Taxable Sales and Purchases for the first quarter of 2015 and 2014 for comparison.

According to the report, Jamestown experienced positive change in Construction with $1,307,187 in 2015 or a 46.37% increase from last year. The industry that experienced negative change in revenue was Wholesale Trade, which was down to $4,003,044 or a -34.73% decrease. Jamestown Mayor Katie Andersen stated that the negative and positive changes in each category wasn’t too much a surprise.

Other industry areas that generated more taxable revenue included Retail Trade and Accommodation & Food Services. Andersen pointed out that the slight increase in the Retail Industry was a nice surprise.

As far as for future growth in each sector, Mayor Andersen stated that with the future opening of Menard’s, specific growth is anticipated in certain industries by bringing and keeping more dollars in Jamestown.
