CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Valley City decided not to renew the contract with the owners of Valley Recycling. It is the only recycling center in Valley City.

City Administrator David Schelkoph said the city gave Valley Recycling a 30 day notice earlier this month. He said the city wants to explore other options and opening up the bidding process to other parties who may be interested in pursuing a contract with the city.

Schelkoph said the city would like to see more sites available for residents to drop off their recycling items in the future. He said the city would like to have the prospective bidder increase it’s advertising to better promote recycling in Valley City.
