CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) A 3 hour grievance hearing was held Monday, June 15 in Barnes County concerning Tim Gillespie, the Truck Regulator Officer for Barnes, LaMoure, Griggs and Stutsman Counties.
Grievance committee chairman Mike Metcalf said the hearing centered on a letter of reprimand and the removal of Gillespie’s peace officer’s license by Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin.
Barnes County States Attorney Carl Martineck told reporters that no charges are pending against Gillespie in this case. He didn’t provide any other details about the case.
Metcalf said after the hearing, the Grievance Committee will recommend the return of Gillespie’s peace officer license and that his reprimand be stricken from the record being procedures were not followed correctly during the reprimand process.
The Barnes County Commission will discuss the Grievance Committee recommendations during their next meeting on July 7.
Gillespie’s attorney Joe Larson was unavailable for comment today.
