CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) The smoke smelled like an electrical problem inside the Wells Fargo Bank in Valley City on Monday, June 8 around 1:25pm.

Fire Chief Gary Retterath said there was no visible fire at the scene and fire fighters had a hard time trying to locate the source of the problem.

Retterath said fire crews aired out the inside of the building and left the scene after about an hour on the scene.

Retterath said it could have been an electric motor or a light fixture malfunction that caused the smell. He said the bank hired a repair company to locate and fix the problem.
