ND – Heavy rain saturated a once very dry North Dakota this weekend followed by a strong gusty wind and then a freeze warning all within a 24 hour period.

Rainfall amounts ranged from 1 to 3 inches being reported across eastern North Dakota.

More than 5 inches of rain hit the Jamestown area over a two day period this past weekend according the Bismarck National Weather Service Meteorologist Rick Krolak.

Valley City reported 1.60 inches of rain on Sunday, May 17 according to the rain gauge at the KOVC broadcast center in Valley City.

Meanwhile a freeze warning is in place from 9pm Monday, May 18 until 9am Tuesday, May 19 for the Jamestown and Valley City areas.

Weather service meteorologists in Aberdeen reported a funnel cloud in the area on Sunday, May 17.
