N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department has released their run report for the week of April 16th through the 23rd.
According to the release, the department has responded to a total of 80 calls so far this year. Fire Chief Jim Reuther also reported that last year, the department had roughly 268 calls to service. Below is a full run down of calls, dates and times for the week.
April 16th, 8:29PM, fire department responded to 3020 18th St SE, City Baler-Landfill, to a report of a fire in the landfill. Firefighters extinguished the and requested baler staff to cover area with dirt so the fire would not rekindle. Jamestown Rural Fire provided mutual aid with additional. Cause-unknown. No injuries reported. Time out 1 hour 45 minutes.
April 17th, 5:40PM, fire department responded to 411 15th Ave NE, Multi Family Dwelling, to a report of a fire in an oven range. Fire was out upon arrival of fire units, occupant extinguished the fire using a fire extinguisher. Cause-heating element. No injuries reported. Time out 30 minutes.
April 18th, 3:07PM, ready squad responded to 410 14th St NE, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate smoke smell. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-electrical malfunction. Time out 25 minutes.
April 18th, 5:19PM, read squad responded to 1510 8th Ave NE, Multi Family Dwelling, to investigate a fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-burnt food. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 20 minutes.
