N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – “Housing is awful tight, but that’s how it is anywhere you go in the state.”

That’s what Executive Director of the Stutsman County Housing Authority David Klein stated.

According to David, the vacancy rate for Stutsman County has dropped below one percent and individuals are finding it increasingly difficult to find housing in the county. Contractors and potential residents have continued to contact the Housing Authority asking if there is housing availability and seeing if there is anything they can do to help.

The concern for housing has been an issue in the public’s eye for a while now and both the county and City of Jamestown are continuing work on further improving the quality of life and housing availability in the community and surrounding areas. Jamestown Mayor Katie Andersen stated that the city was doing what they could to help encourage construction in the city.

David stated that there is no instant fix to the housing problem, but the Housing Authority would continue to work towards making it easy for growth.
