(NewsDakota.com) KDDR radio in Oakes was honored for sportscasting by earning three Eric Sevareid Awards presented by the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association on Saturday night.
KDDR took First Place honors in the Small Market Radio Sportscast/Program category, and an Award of Merit in the Small Market Radio Sports Reporting and Sports Play-By-Play categories.
In addition, NewsDakota.com received First Place in the Small Market Radio Website Category.
The awards are named for the Velva, North Dakota-born and University of Minnesota-educated journalist best known for his work as a correspondent for CBS Radio and Television. The awards are presented annually to small, medium and large market radio and television stations representing the Dakotas, as well as Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin.
