N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A local Ellendale man has been awarded $50 worth of fuel through the Tanks of Thanks program.

Walter Schock of Ellendale was nominated through Tanks of Thanks and has received free fuel redeemable at any Cenex retail location. He was nominated for the many years he has dedicated as a local bus driver and manager. Although he is currently battling cancer, he continues to drive developmentally disabled students to both Oakes and Edgeley. He is also quick to fill in on other routes and oversees maintenance and scheduling. Outside of work, he volunteers for multiple programs at a local church.

Tanks of Thanks allows people to nominate friends, family and neighbors to receive free fuel as a way to say thank you for doing good in the community. Each month, both CHS and Cenex give away more than $5,000 in free fuel.
