Lund, age 75, of Valley City passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City, one day before his 76th birthday.  A Memorial Service will be conducted at 10 AM Monday, April 6th at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Randall Schlecht officiating.  Inurnment will be in Woodbine Cemetery at Valley City.

Duane Arthur Lund was born March 30, 1939 the son of Roy and Ruth (Roseth) Lund.  He grew up and attended school at Valley City and in 1957 entered the US Navy.  He was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Essex aircraft carrier.  After his discharge in 1961 he went to barber school and worked as a barber for a number of years.  He worked with his dad at Dakota Radio & TV Sales and Service and later worked as a carpenter.

Duane married Audrey Buhr in 1964.  They made their home in Valley City where they had three children, seven grandchildren, three-step-grandchildren, and three step-great grandchildren.

Duane is survived by his wife of 50 years, Audrey, their children: Todd (Deb) Lund, Sanborn, ND, Tammy (Robert) Drake, Valley City, ND and Melissa Lund, Valley City, ND; grandchildren McKenzie Drake, Sam Drake, Maddy Drake, Dawson Lund-Steichen, Jessica Lund and Danny Lund; step-grandchildren Tony Drake and Erin Drake; step-great grandchildren Payne Drake, Savannah Drake and Andy Deutsch; sister Marilyn (Paul) Teslow and their daughters Lori, Linda, and Sandy and sister Louise Milman and her daughter Liz.  He was preceded in death by his grandchildren Max Drake and Roxanne Drake and his parents Roy and Ruth Lund.
