Richman, age 50, of Tower City, ND, died Tuesday, March 24th at her residence under Hospice Care. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 31st at Grace Free Lutheran Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 30th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Grace Free Lutheran Church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday evening at the church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery near Tower City, ND.
Tammy Jo Peterson was born on March 8, 1965 in Valley City, North Dakota to Le Roy “Pete” Peterson and Faye Marie (Waters) Peterson. Tammy graduated high school in 1984 from Kathryn, North Dakota. She married Steven Scott Richman on October 19, 1985. Together they had five children: Joey, Kevin, Jeffrey, Samantha, and Tyler. Tammy started employment in 1989 at Tower View Café as a waitress. Since then she was employed at Hazel’s Corner Café in Buffalo. She also took on a second job at the Tower Bar. In May of 2010 Tammy was employed by Tower Travel Center until June of 2014, when she took a leave of absence to care for her father and in July of 2014, she was diagnosed with cancer. Some of Tammy’s favorite hobbies were to crochet blankets for her loved ones, cross stitch and putting together puzzles. She also enjoyed anything that related to ‘Elvis’ and Unicorns. Tammy had become very special to the many people she came in contact with. She was considered a close friend, sister and even another Mom to a lot of kids.
Tammy is survived by her husband Steven Richman; children: Joey (Harmony) Richman of Buffalo, Kevin Richman of Tower City, Jeffrey Richman of Valley City, Samantha (Brad) Steinhaus of Buffalo and Tyler Richman of Tower City; siblings, Gary Peterson of Jamestown, Roy (Kristie) Peterson of Gordon, Nebraska, Peggy (Scott) Sandvik of Valley City, Ricky (Lisa) Peterson of Indiana and other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many adopted children.
Tammy was proceeded in death by her parents, Pete and Faye Peterson; a sister, Marie ‘Cookie’, and several others that were very dear and near to her.
