(NewsDakota.com) – Twice it appeared LaMoure/Litchville-Marion was dead in the water. Both times they found ways keep the game alive before finally pulling away in a second overtime with a 71-61 win over No. 5 New England. Anthony Olson burst onto the scene in a quarterfinal win over Dickinson Trinity in 2013 and he shined under the bright lights again with 29 points and 15 rebounds.

With 15 seconds remaining in regulation New England held a four-point lead and control of the basketball. At that time the recipe is usually inbound, make free throws and advance. But the Tigers threw the ball away which lead to an Olson runner to pull LLM within a pair.

Following a timeout New England airmailed a pass out of play to set up a LLM inbound with five seconds left from under their own basket. The Loboes first option went to Olson, but he got tied up and the possession arrow favored LaMoure.

The final play of regulation came with 3.1 left and Parker Stemen found his cousin Drew Thielges wide open on the left block to tie the game at 51 as the horn sounds. In overtime, the Tigers had a second chance to seal the game with 0.2 remaining John Urlacher missed both free throws in a tie game.

In the second overtime session it was all Loboes. Brady Warcken splashed in his fourth three to start it and LLM rolled to a 10-point win.

LaMoure will play Four Winds-Minnewaukan in the second semifinal at the Bismarck Event Center on Friday night. The first game will start around 6:45pm and will feature Rugby vs. Oak Grove. The LLM game can be heard on TED-FM 98.3 and NewsDakota.com.
