N.D.- Farmers who live in Dickey and Sargent Counties, along with seven northeast South Dakota counties have now been ruled eligible to receive natural disaster assistance.

The nine counties have been designated as a primary natural disaster area by the federal agricultural department, due to flooding and storms that hit the area between mid-March and late September of this year. The Ag Department says farmers in the counties can apply for low interest federal emergency loans, as well as help through other programs.

The South Dakota counties in the area are Brown, Day, Edmunds, Faulk, McPherson, Marshall and Spink.
