N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Enderlin Eagles have reserved a spot in the Region One Championship after a 74-64 victory over the Central Cass Squirrels in the tournament semifinal at North Dakota State College of Science on Tuesday night.

Behind a 15 point first half from Grady Bresnahan, Central Cass took a seven point lead into the break. In the final two quarters the Eagles would slow down the Squirrels leading scorer allowing just eight points from the point guard in the second half. Strong defense combined with precession shooting opened the door for Enderlin as they out scored Central Cass in the second half 44-27 to take the victory. 

Leading the way for the Eagles was Graham Hurlburt who posted a team high 22 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for the double-double. Senior guard Dalton Anderson was close behind his teammate with 19 points in the game.  Spencer Gillund helped flair the second half comeback with eight of his 10 points in the final two quarters.

Bresnahan ended the night with a game high 23 points in the loss. Seniors Adam Breske (15) and Tommy Voss (10) each registered double digits for the Squirrels.

The Eagles advance to the Region One Championship game, while the Squirrels will play for third place on Thursday night.

In the first semifinal of the night, Fargo Oak Grove defeated Wyndmere/Lidgerwood 73-58. Oak Grove took the lead early and kept the Warhawks at bay with strong offense. Oak Grove’s Christian Adams led all scorers in the game with 31 points.

The Grovers and Eagles wins sets up a rematch of the District 2 Championship game. In the previous meeting Oak Grove took the District 2 title when Carter Kretchman hit a last second three point shot for a 82-80 victory. The Region One title will be decided on Thursday night starting at 7:30pm. You can hear the game on Q101, 101.1FM, starting at 7:30pm.
