CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–All-state selections for the small-school levels of football have been released, and several area players have won honors.

Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter quarterback Jonah Schwartzenberger highlighted the 9-man first-team offense.  He led his team to a state championship with 301 yards passing and 233 rushing in the title game.

Teammate offensive lineman Andrew Beine joined Schwartzenberger on the list.  Other first teamers from Region I included Wyndmere-Lidgerwood quarterback Adam Bell, South Border runningback Blake Bosch, LaMoure-L-M lineman Zach Stemen and Sargent Central receiver Justin Arp.

Defensive first-team selections from Region I included Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter linebacker Wade Rath-Wald and Wyndmere-Lidgerwood lineman Jeff Illies and defensive back Luis Vasquez.

Second-team at-large award winners included LaMoure-L-M’s Brady Thielges and Casey Sailer, Edgeley-Kulm’s Jamison Jangula, and Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter’s Steven Weigel.

Milnor-North Sargent quarterback Josh Hansana highlights the list of 11-man “A” first-team offensive selections.  He led his team to the state title game last season and to the playoffs this year.

Other Region I offensive selections included Linton-HMB receiver Jayden Gross and Oakes lineman Victor Cordova.

Defensive first-team selections included Linton-HMB defensive back Tanner Purintun and lineman Alex Gross, and Maple Valley-Enderlin linebacker Ethan Preston.

Second-team offensive at-large selections featured Linton-HMB’s Nolan Meidinger, Maple Valley-Enderlin’s Jesse Beilke, and Oakes’ Cody Voegeli and Adam Roney.

Second-team defensive at-large selections included Maple Valley-Enderlin’s Jordan Haseleu, Oakes’ Ben Ketterling, and Milnor-North Sargent’s Zach Drevlow.
