Sports Information–In a see-saw game, UM-Crookston used a late second half run and the free throw line to put away the Vikings in a 76-60 victory.

The Golden Eagles led by two at the break and each team traded scores to begin the second half with the lead changing hands over the first seven minutes.

The Vikings eventually took a 37-36 lead on a free throw by Katelyn Ralston before UM-Crookston inched away.

At the seven minute mark, UM-Crookston went on a run to increase the lead to seven and then stretch it out at the free throw line, eventually putting the game out of reach for the Vikings. The Golden Eagles shot 16-26 from the free throw line in the second half compared to 7 of 12 for the home Vikings.

Juniors Katelyn Ralston and Courtney Titus led the Vikings with 11 points each, they were followed by freshmen Sierra Evan with 10. It was Ralston’s third straight game leading the Vikings in scoring.

With the loss, the Vikings now stand at 3-6 on the season and will travel to play NCAA Division I North Dakota State University on Saturday, November 26 at 2:00 PM.

Valley City State returns home on Monday, November 28 with a 7:00 PM matchup versus Concordia College.
