N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It’s been 100 years that Kiwanis has been an organization and Jamestown will be celebrating in a special way all year long.
Past President and current member Janna Bergstedt gave a brief background of the club and their mission.
To help celebrate the clubs 100 years of service, Jamestown will be trying to do something every month this year to celebrate. Starting in February, the club began collecting 100 cans or boxes of nonperishable foods to donate to the Jamestown Salvation Army. Current President Jan Barnes stated that this was just the beginning of the project.
The organization will be announcing the different collection projects each month and how to get involved. In April, they will be donating 100 pancake tickets for their biggest fundraiser to police, firemen, first responders and others that assist the community.
