CITY, N.D. – Two Barnes County residents notified the sheriff’s office on Thursday of a phone scam where the caller said a warrant has been issued for your arrest.

Chief Deputy Don Fiebiger says the caller attempts to get personal information like your home address, social security number and bank account information. He says those are huge red flags and you should hang up on the caller.

He says law enforcement agencies never call someone who has a warrant for arrest and then try to obtain personal information over the phone.

Fiebiger says the scam artist caller I.D. phone numbers were (831-435-1628) or (831-435-1629.)
