Vigesaa, 90, Jamestown, ND died Sunday February 15, 2015 at Ave Maria Village under the care of hospice.

Vernon Victor Vigesaa was born February 17, 1924 in rural LuVerne, ND, to Thomas and Theodora (Egge) Vigesaa. In 1943 their family moved to a farmstead south of Kensal.

Vernon and Eileen Olson were married June 30, 1950, operating a grain and dairy farm until their retirement in 1986.

He embraced learning, was well read, and especially was interested in understanding the Bible and God’s plan for his personal life. He recognized community needs and was helpful in many ways. His special influence is felt by the deep interest and love he demonstrated to his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his many friends and neighbors.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Eileen, and 6 children, Myron (Nancy) Vigesaa, Kensal, ND; Barbara (Henry) Wegter, Fargo, ND; Claire (Jill) Vigesaa, Sidney, MT; Carolyn Oetken, Sioux Falls, SD; Marsha Erickson, Duluth, MN; Lana (Valent) Bernat, Carthage, NY. He has 19 grandchildren, Myron’s (Nathan, Ryan, Aaron, Karsten, Jenna), Barbara’s (Brett), Claire’s (Danika, Deni, Duran), Carolyn’s (Michaela, Heath), Marsha’s (Jade, Daniel), Lana’s (Morgan, Kira, Weston, Trenton, Nora, Ila). He has 8 great grandchildren: Nathan’s (Carter, Brooks, Asher), Ryan’s (Ella), Brett’s (Brody), Danika’s (Eliza), Michaela’s (Adelyn, Gavin). Vernon is also survived by 1 sister, Lillian Gauderman and 1 brother, Willard Vigesaa, both of Fargo, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Norman (Ione), Walter (Clara), LeRoy, and 4 sisters, Petra Vigesaa, Bertha (Corlie) Hall, Inga (Mencher) Stenslie, and Ila (Clark) Ward.

Funeral Service – 11:00 AM Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Kensal Public School in Kensal

Burial – Kensal Cemetery, Kensal, ND

Visitation – 5:00-7:00 PM Friday @ Haut Funeral Home in Jamestown
