N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Kindred and Maple Valley clinched Region 1 tournament berths on Saturday night at the District 2 girls’ basketball tournament from the Fargo Civic. Enderlin stayed alive with a win in the consolation round.

 
Enderlin 49, Northern Cass 41
Enderlin beat Northern Cass for the second time this season in a very tight matchup. Neither team held a double digit lead. The Eagles pulled away in the fourth quarter by going 12-14 from the free throw line. Mai Syverson led the Eagles with 15 points, and sophomore guard Jacquelyn McCleary added 14 points, including 10-12 from the foul line. Lexi Carpenter led Northern Cass with 11 points, and Hailee Melander added 10 points and four rebounds. The Jaguars end the season at 2-19.
 
Kindred 44, Oak Grove 34
Despite shooting 13-60 from the floor (21%), Kindred stayed unbeaten at 20-0. The Vikings scored the final seven points of the second quarter to take a 21-14 halftime lead. The Grovers trimmed the lead to two midway through the 3rd quarter, but never could get the lead in the 2nd half. Sierra Graff came off the bench to lead the Vikings with eleven points and six rebounds. Kindred’s bench outscored their starters 26-18. Marley Holt had a double-double for Oak Grove with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
 
Maple Valley 62, Central Cass 47
Rylee Nudell reached another career scoring milestone on Saturday. The Maple Valley junior, who earlier this week committed to play her college ball at NDSU, passed 2500 career points to lead the Raiders to a Region 1 berth for the fourth straight season. Nudell scored 29 points, including 5-8 from three-point range. In all, the Raiders made ten treys. Jada Von Bank added 11 points and four rebounds after being limited because of foul trouble in the first half. Macie Romsdal led Central Cass with 17 points and eight rebounds, and Jessie Roesler added 15 points for the Squirrels.

6:15–Oak Grove (8-13) vs. Enderlin (3-18), region qualifier
