ROCKFORD, ND (NewsDakota.com) The 2015 District 7 girls basketball tourney will start on Friday, February 13th at 4pm with three games at the New Rockford/Sheyenne Gym. The tourney will continue on Saturday and Monday, each day will have three games starting at 4pm. The top four teams will advance to the Region 4 Tourney in Devils Lake starting February 23rd and meet the top four teams of District 8. The defending District 7 champs from last year, the Carrington Cardinals, moved to District 5 this year and are the number one seed going into the tourney this Friday in Jamestown. The host, the Rockets of New Rockford/Sheyenne, finished runner-up a year ago.
The number one seed this year is Lakota/Edmore and they will receive a first round bye, they will play on Saturday at 5:30pm against the winner of Four Winds/Minnewaukan and Warwick.
Opening day this Friday at 4:00pm will feature No. 4 Four Winds/Minnewaukan (13-6) against No. 5 Warwick (5-14), then at 5:30pm No. 2 Benson County (13-6) will take on No. 7 New Rockford/Sheyenne (2-17), the last game at 7:00pm will have No. 3 Harvey/Wells County (13-6) against No. 6 Dakota Prairie (5-14).
