N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Names have been released from a crash on I-94 that killed one man and injured two others Monday morning.
18 year-old Ashley Birkle of Killdeer, North Dakota was traveling eastbound on I-94 when she fell asleep at the wheel, lost control of her vehicle, crossed the median and struck an oncoming westbound pickup. 61 year-old driver David Harold of Garfield, MN quickly succumbed to his injuries on scene. Birkle and the lone passenger in the pickup, 35 year-old Matthew Schroeder of Dalton, MN were transferred to the JRMC with non-life threatening injuries.
I-94 was blocked for several hours due to the crash. It remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
